Burton’s Mace Electrical continues to expand with its announcement of a successful tender won from Trent and Dove Housing, whose mission is ‘Transforming homes, lives and neighbourhoods’.
Trent and Dove, based in Burton and Uttoxeter, is a housing association, providing affordable housing for rent across East Staffordshire.
The organisation also offers homes to buy in East Staffordshire and surrounding areas on a shared ownership basis. And it looks to ‘making neighbourhoods better places to live in; and by putting its customers at the heart of decision-making and giving them greater choice’.
Mace has won a competitive tender for electrical work and installations at 37 flats in Highwood Court in Uttoxeter. This successful contract with the Housing Association followed works identified in an electrical inspection.
The Association which received its housing stock from East Staffordshire Borough Council, in 2001, promised residents improvements to its properties and the current works by Mace fall into that category.
“Carrying out these electrical works for the Association marks another landmark for Mace”, remarked MD Simon Chapman.
“We have been working on home improvements for individual customers since we started the business; and for several years, Mace has been looking to contribute to improving and bettering homes for residents in Burton and Uttoxeter”.
In fact, the ongoing improvements to its housing - flats, apartments, houses - carried out by Trent and Dove, working with its roster of local contractors that now includes Mace, are consistently exceeding the Government’s ‘Decent Homes’ target to which the Association signed up.
Incidentally, Trent & Dove Housing, is one of only 46 organisations in the region recognised in the 2010 Best Companies Accreditation following the ‘Best Companies to Work For’ survey.
Ron Dougan, Chief Executive of Trent & Dove Housing said; “We are passionate about providing quality services to our customers. To achieve this we need motivated staff with a positive attitude, who are committed to helping us to be the best. Based on staff feedback, the survey looked at employee engagement as an integral part of a company’s success and growth, and sets a benchmark for other employers”.
