Building on its former work at this leading independent school, Mace has now installed flood lighting.

For future budding tennis stars, Mace initially designed, then selected and finally installed flood lighting for all four courts at Abbottsholme.

“Six metre poles where required to give the required lighting coverage across all the courts”, pointed out Mace MD Simon Chapman, “But raising the lighting units to that height means that its effectiveness can be reduced”.

The solution required Mace to locate a suitable manufacturer whose flood-lighting systems could be matched with the school’s requirements.

From the short-list of three potential suppliers, Mace finally selected professionally designed units from German manufacturer SVL.

Simon Chapman continued, “Their 16 flood lights incorporate dedicated lenses in each unit that provide efficient lighting. These are matched to high-quality reflectors in a package that delivers even illumination across the courts, with no pools of intense light nor areas of reduced lighting”.

Initial reactions from all members of the school’s tennis club have been positive.

The ability to continue practising and playing matches into the evenings during their busy season of tournaments is a big advantage for all of Abbottsholme’s students.
