Burton’s leading electrical and security contractor, Mace, has been shortlisted in the 2010 Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Awards.
The Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner is the most prestigious event in the Chamber’s events calendar. It has been established for many years and attracts a number of high-profile guests from across the West Midlands region.
This year the Chamber has broadened the event to celebrate and showcase the best of local business and enterprise with the introduction of a series of Chamber business awards.
Seven awards’ categories have been announced and Mace is proud to confirm that the business has been shortlisted in the Best Contribution to the Community Award.
The company has been active through its Community Engagement Programme in Burton and District for the past 8 years, throughout the development and expansion of the business under MD Simon Chapman.
Mace has focused on helping to make sports and social facilities safer places with CCTV and lighting systems, whilst simultaneously helping the more vulnerable and senior citizens in the town and surrounding areas feel more protected and less at risk.
“We are extremely proud to have been shortlisted for this important award”, remarked MD Simon Chapman, “And we wish all those Chamber member companies who have entered great success in this prestigious event”.
“For us, it marks the culmination of another year of intense activity within this business as we come out of the recession”.
“We recognised that helping and supporting our community to be a valuable part of our ‘complete business activity’. Engaging with our communities has been developed from an initial outline framework into a map for supporting Burton and District that is used by and involves all our staff”.
The Judging Panel, comprising of Birmingham’s leading power-brokers and will be chaired by Paul Bassi, President of the Chamber, who has been instrumental in establishing these Awards.
The Winners will be announced at The Birmingham Chamber Annual Dinner and Awards 2010 at the International Convention Centre on Thursday 16 September 2010.
