Burton’s fast growing electrical contractor Mace has just completed works for H K Wentworth on Ashby Business Park in Ashby de la Zouch.
H K Wentworth is one of Europe’s leading manufacturing companies in the fields of speciality chemicals, lubricants and resins production with a range of products for multi-media cleaning and railway cleaning technology.
The company has been in the process of re-locating part of its aerosol processing operations to Ashby. The group’s research and development facility ensures that industry and customer-specific demands are met with quality products manufactured to full EN ISO9001:2000 standards.
The Mace team of engineers led by Eddie Fuller worked across four rooms in a new 40m by 10m temporary structure located on the site.
The specialised installations of fire alarms, and security systems completed by Mace Midlands are explosion proof to Zone 1 standards.
Mace working with the client, specified Scantronic and Apollo alarm equipment with a C-Tec panel that is sufficiently robust to withstand an explosion from within, without transmitting the flame to the outside; and that produce insufficient energy (heat) to ignite a vapour.
Special care and attention was taken in designing and completing the installations with spark barriers fitted in-line. The new suspended lighting using 5’ twin fittings of 116W are also explosion proof to ensure that illumination is maintained in all circumstances.
“Our Zone 1 installations have significantly impressed the client for them to now ask Mace Midlands to carry out additional works”, added Eddie Fuller.
“Our engineering teams regularly draw on their wide experience, to provide innovative fire and security solutions. On this project, for example, the two alarm systems will provide added protection for staff and important company assets”.
Modern manufacturing techniques linked with constant R&D has enabled H K Wentworth to continue to develop and launch new products in its Electrolube, EuroChemi and AF brands.
AF International, which is Europe's leading manufacturer of specialist computer and equipment cleaning products, has received excellent independent test results on a number of products which contain an anti-microbial additive.
The results have shown that they kill 99.9% of H1N1 Swine Flu Virus according to EN14476, and representative results for a family of flu viruses, such as common flu and Bird Flu H5N1.
