Consequently, all Electrical Installations should be regularly tested and inspected to British Standards BS7671 - IEE Wiring Regulations.

Mace offer this guidance for testing and inspection:

• Commercial premises – every 3 -5 years.
• Business premises – every 5 years.
• Homes - every 10 years; or on change of occupancy.

Some properties and locations require more frequent testing. Cables, switches, sockets, fuse boards and other equipment all deteriorate with prolonged use.
