For many Mace customers, a systematic and regular programme of maintenance, inspection and testing of their portable appliances, is now part of their annual routine.
Portable Appliance Testing, PAT, is the legal requirement to ensure all your portable appliances are tested in a pre-determined period.
The Electricity at Work Regulations places a legal duty on employers, employees and the self-employed.
To comply with the law, a regular programme of testing and inspection is required. This is to ensure, as far as possible, that no danger results from the use of the equipment.
Mace carries out all its testing in accordance with the IEE, Institute of Electrical Engineers, Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment. Coincidentally, this also conforms to Health & Safety Executive, HSE, guidelines.
Before commencing any testing, Mace engineers carry out a risk assessment to ensure the work can be carried out safely, effectively and without risk to any individual.
